Submission Guidelines

General Submission Guidelines

Madam Millie Press, a New Mexico literary magazine, has the right to refuse publication of any works submitted.

Madam Millie Press does not support, encourage, or accept submissions of works that can be interpreted as hate towards any individual or group.

Madam Millie Press does support and encourage works with a diverse angle and voice.

Madam Millie Press does not accept works of pornography, libelous material, or advertising.

Before publishing, we may correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling to ensure better readability, but otherwise the content of your work will not be altered.

We understand that some writers may not have access to Microsoft Word or other paid word processors, so don’t worry if your work isn’t saved, formatted, or submitted in a certain file format. Worry about your work of art and not so much about the way it is submitted to us.

We are looking for great works of writing and art not whether or not you pay for the latest subscription to an expensive word processor. There are many free services out there, such as Dropbox Paper and Google Docs that will do just fine.

Submitting to Madam Millie Press is free, but we are also not capable of paying works that are chosen for publication at this moment. Chosen works will be given full credit as well as a bio that can include links to social media, websites, online portfolios, etc. Free online advertising is always good especially if you are beginning to develop your artistic online presence.

Madam Millie Press does not accept previously published work. This includes work published on personal blogs or websites.

To be considered for publication, submissions must have a New Mexico theme. It is not required that you are a New Mexico writer residing in or are from New Mexico.

You are welcome to submit to any and all categories below. Please read our guidelines for each section before you submit your work. Thank you.
